Anyone who has been to the Chino, Planes of Fame Airshow know what it is like to see almost every warbird in the sky at the same time. Just about all types flying today are represented at Chino. A few years ago there were five airworthy P-47s in the sky. Last year, 2007, we were treated to the awesome site and sound of three P-38 Lightnings. This year, 2008 you saw four Corsairs in formation. What will be in store for next year? I don't know, but it will be a show to plan for early.
Here is a simple rundown of the "Gaggle of Warbirds".
(2) P-38 Lightnings
(6) P-51D Mustangs
