1946: ? last service with 3rd AF, 302nd Base Unit
1946: ? Speed record set between Mexico City and Los Angeles in 4:23 averaging 356 mph. Pilot was Abelardo L. Rodriquez Jr.
1947: NX33699, #90 "Magic Town"
1947: Bendix Race: 2nd place at 458 mph, Joe DeBona pilot, retired from air racing.
1948: May 27, export license issued for ferry flight from Miami - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba - island of Hispanola.
Issued #405 with the AMD (Cuerpo de Aviacion Militar Dominicana
1951: June 8, suffered damage during gun practice - repaired
1952: Sep 16, suffered damage as FAD 1703 - repaired
1954: withdrawn from use
#405 was nicknamed "El Negrito" by members of the AMD
El Negrito kept the long-range fuel tanks and navigation used in the Bendix Race for reconnaissance work. Later the tanks were removed and the P-51 was outfitted with armament.
Photos show that this P-51 retained its all black paint when in AMD service.
