I'm no P-51 expert, but this looks to be the plane in the background of the photo for Case #342. If so, looks like the folks that solved that case solved this one too!

This looks like an early picture of "Iron Ass" N6356T around 1958.

Hi, I believe the yellow one is 7720C at Battle Creek,Michigan in the very early 1960's . Dave Albright marg222@yahoo.com P.S. I learn to fly at BTL in the early 60's The other one was crashed at Hasting,Michigan. Both owned by the same person,I have for gotten his name. The yellow one was painted and sold to a kid who flipped it over on his first landing at Pelston,Michigan. It was later sold to a Doctor in Detroit,Mi.

Once again, this photo was taken on the ramp at Cavalier. The airplanes are on the south side of the ramp facing north toward the building. Left airplane is N851D which Trans Florida and later Cavalier operated for many years as the company trainer. I have flown that one and ridden in N7724C many times. N7724C was built by Cavalier for the president of Narco, and later sold to an MD who put it on its belly 3 times (oops, he forgot!) before selling it to Cavalier. The fuselage of N851D was mated with the wings (which had all the military hardware in them) from N4222A and the aircraft sold to the USAF for the Indonesian MAC program. It was crated in SRQ and flown in a USAF C-141 to Indonesia.
Case Closed!
